This tour company was fantastic from start to finish, their communication was excellent (I booked while at home in England) and I would recommend my driver Khuong to anyone – his English was excellent and he was knowledgeable, energetic and just an all round nice guy. In fact everyone I dealt with at this company was fantastic. The food and homestays throughout were amazing too.. basically everything was spot on!!
I decided to book with a tour group despite having a full motorbike license and I’m so glad I did, the roads are a bit iffy and it’s so much nicer being able to look around at the amazing scenery! Plus Khuong taught me so much about the local culture and history, things I wouldn’t have learned by myself. If you’re nervous about the loop I think booking with THG is a great option.
I did a three day motorbike tour with Truly Ha Giang and it was one of the major highlights of my four month trip in SE Asia. It was incredibly local (I even got videoed at a market for the local news…!), it was reasonably priced, the landscape was absolutely breathtaking, and a way to see things I definitely wouldn’t have gotten to on my own. We stayed at a homestay, which was fascinating and lovely, and ate locally – delicious! Stopped to see how they dye materials different colors. Only complaint was we couldn’t stop to take pictures every minute when you saw another amazing thing, or else we wouldn’t have been able to cover all the ground we did. Ha Giang is just now hitting the tourist track, so felt less touristy and overrun than Sapa. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to go back!
I really feel emotional when witnessing the touch lives of the children in Sapa. Som are 3 or 4 years old. Some are 8 or 9 years old. They should have bên in the class stead of being on the street and peddling little items on their bare foots. I hope I did something meaningful for them. Travelling with AsiaTravel is the most memorable journey in my student’s life. Arigatou.
