Itinerary

Day 1ARRIVAL IN HANOI

You are welcome by our guide and car driver at the Noi Bai Airport and transferred to the hotel. The check-in hour is from 2pm. You can either visit the city or simply enjoy a rest after a long flight after that.
Hanoi is a fascinating city that has the vibrant nightlife along with restaurants and sidewalk cafes, the smiles of residents and street vendors in Hanoi. Also, there are many startling attractions that represent the cultural wealth of this city.

Day 2HANOI - CITY TOUR (F / M)

Breakfast in the hotel. Departure from your hotel at 8:00 am to visit Hanoi, including the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh and its simple stilt house (not available on Monday and Friday), Presidential Palace and One Pillar Pagoda. Next, visit the West Lake and Tran Quoc Pagoda, the ethnological museum and literary temple, the first university in Vietnam.
After lunch visit Hoa Lo Prison, which was known by American airmen as “Hanoi Hilton”. Depending on the weather, head to the Ngoc Ha flower village, where a rusty US B-52 shot down during the Christmas bombing in 1968 (1972) is surrounded by a small pond and a crowded market.
Try a tour in a rickshaw in the Old Quarter for shopping and see water puppet show at the Water Puppet Theater. After that, transfer to your hotel.

Day 3HANOI - MAI CHAU (B / L / D)

The departure will take place at 8:00 from your hotel for the drive to Mai Chau (3.5 hours). Mai Chau is a charming village of white Thai minority in the heart of the greenish tea valley. Traditional stilt houses with bamboo flooring and palm-leaf roofs lining along the street. This region is incredibly covered with evergreen rice terraces. Arrive at the village of Pom Coong in Mai Chau around lunchtime, enjoy lunch with the locals.
After the break, you will discover the village of Pom Coong of ethnic Thai. From Poom Coong you walk about 2-3 hours in the middle of the beautiful landscape with rice and sugarcane fields. You will cross many ethnic villages like Ban Ho 1, Ban Ho 2, Xam Khoe. Then back to Poom Coong for the dinner.

Day 4MAI CHAU - NINH BINH (F / M)

Breakfast with host family. Depart for Ninh Binh, the dry Halong Bay (3.5 hour drive). Ninh Binh is a well-known tourist attraction with the harmonious nature between mountains and plains, rivers and sea … and forms a picturesque landscape of dry Halong Bay. Visit the Temple of Dinh King in Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam in the 11th century.
Options to choose:
Option 1: Cruise to Tam Coc, 8 km south of Ninh Binh
You will take a rowing boat to Tam Coc. The boat trip will take about 2 hours and you will visit three caves in a water landscape. Some scenes from the movie “Indochine” with Catherine Deneuve were filmed there. The rowing boat leads you to a cave and the others on the Ngo Dong River.

Option 2: Cruise to Van Long Nature Reserve, 14 km north of Ninh Binh
arriving at Van Long. Then take a rowing boat to the biological reserve Van Long, an exceptional natural landscape. Enjoy the tranquil landscapes surrounding beautiful limestone cliffs and contemplate several kinds of birds and even Delacour black langur (in the Red List of Endangered Species of the World) if you are lucky!
You also have an opportunity to visit the Bich Dong Pagoda on the hill.

Day 5NINH BINH - HAI PHONG - CAT BA ISLAND - LAN HA BAY (F / M / A)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from your hotel to Hai Phong. Arrive at Hai Phong Port, transfer by speedboat to Cat Ba Island for a cruise on Oriental Sun Junk (or similar junks).
Embarkation and seafood is served on board for lunch while the Junk cruises into Lan Ha Bay. Then drive to the famous Halong Bay towards isolated islands. Stop on a beach for swimming. Visit the verdant lagoon of Hang Ca, accessible through a tunnel with a small boat or frisky kayak. Dinner with seafood on board.
Overnight aboard the Oriental Sun or similar junks in Lan Ha Bay.
Transfer: 3 hours

Day 6LAN HA BAY - HAI PHONG - FLIGHT TO DANANG - HOI AN (F / M)

Breakfast is served on board before the cruise heads to Lan Ha bay, closer to the most dazzling peaks and rocks. Visit a floating village where you can breed colorful fish and shellfish. Lunch is served on board (or on the mainland if we need to ship new customers). Disembarkation between 11:30 and 12:00 for direct transfer to the airport in Hai Phong to get into the flight to Da Nang. After the arrival in Da Nang, our driver will pick you up at the airport in Danang. Transfer to the hotel in Hoi An (45 minutes).

Day 7HOI AN - VISIT (F / M)

After the breakfast at the hotel, we will start the visit to Hoi An which is a city of unique charm, featured by the ancient Faifo cup of coffee, and considered as one of the wealthiest ports in Asia in the 16th and 17th centuries. There are rows of houses and buildings with the harmonious architecture between Vietnamese-Japanese-Chinese style.
Take a walk (with guide) through the narrow streets in the old district of Hoi An town. Visit Phuc Kien Shrine, Phuc Thanh Pagoda – the oldest pagoda in Hoi An (1454); the bridge pagoda, built in 1593, connecting the Chinese and Japanese streets; Tan Ky House, Community House Phuc Kien. Bicycle tour through villages and meeting residents in Hoi An.

Day 8HOI AN - HAI VAN PASS - HUE (F / M)

After the breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Hue through Hai Van Pass – a spectacular mountainous road. Stop in Da Nang (ex-Tourane), visit the Cham Museum, which contains the largest collection of Cham sculptures in the world. Arrival in Hue, the former capital during the Nguyen dynasty in the 19th century. Here you will find the most luxurious palaces and royal tombs as well as the most beautiful gardens in Southeast Asia. With the Perfume River and harmonious hills, Hue is still commemorated as a poetic city.
Check-in at the hotel. Then visit the Imperial City and take a stroll on Dong Ba Market – the liveliest place in Hue with many fruits and vegetables.

Day 9HUE - VISIT (F / M)

Enjoy local featured breakfast at the hotel with “Bun Bo Hue” (rice noodles with beef). At 08.00, take a sluggish boat on the famous Perfume River. Drive to visit Thien Mu Pagoda with the famous octagonal tower overlooking the river. Discovery of the tomb of King Tu Duc and Ming Mang in the surroundings of enchanting pine trees and ponds. Explore local handicrafts: conical hats and joss sticks.
Depending on the weather and your health, you can take a cyclo tour around the Imperial City to see daily life in Hue.

Day 10HUE - FLIGHT TO SAIGON (F / M)

Have breakfast in the hotel and say goodbye to dreamy Hue to transfer to the Da Nang Airport (45-minute drive) for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Our driver and tour guide will pick you up at the airport and head to the city. The city of Ho Chi Minh is a modern metropolis in the north of the Mekong Delta on the west bank of the Saigon River. Also known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City is a vibrant and exciting city where the moors and the ancients are in perfect harmony.
In the afternoon, start sightseeing in the city: the Reunification Palace, the War Museum with a detailed photographic exhibition and an extensive collection of airplanes, tanks and weapons. Visit the Ngoc Hoang Pagoda, Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office and the lively Ben Thanh Market. Take a stroll through Cho Lon (Chinese Streets), the largest Chinatown in Vietnam and one of the liveliest areas in Saigon. After that, transfer to your hotel.

Day 11SAIGON - CAI BE (B / L / D)

We depart from the hotel at 8:00am to Cai Be which is considered to be the entrance of the Mekong Delta of Vietnam and also the amazing rice grain chamber of the country. The tour begins with a visit to some local rice paper production sites, popcorn, coconut candy, dry longan fruit,… and the old houses in Cai Be with extensive lush orchard and meet friendly local residents.
We can either take a bike ride on the village paths or simply relax in the garden in the afternoon. At the end of the day, we dine in and stay with a host family in Cai Be.
Transfer: 2.5 hours

Day 12CAI BE - VINH LONG - SAIGON - DEPARTURE (B / L)

After having warming breakfast with the host family, you can take a boat to An Binh Islet between Vinh Long and Cai Be where evergreen islands in the middle of the Mekong River form large networks of meandering rivers with countless canals and remain untouched.
Lunch is served in an orchard where you will be welcomed with a warm cup of tea. After lunch and a short walk to visit the orchard, we will take a 45-minute boat ride to see beautiful landscapes along the river and observe rural life in the Mekong Delta. We will stop by the old church An Binh. After crossing the Co Chien River, the trip will end at Vinh Long Pier.
After that, we will drive back to Saigon in our private car.
